Gramya Manthan 2019 Summer Edition, Rural Immersion Journey by Youth Alliance [June 14-23, Kanpur]: Apply by May 5

GM EMAILER 2 1024x791 1

We, the young individuals of today’s generation find ourselves encompassed by the technological intervention which has created a bubble of artificial reality around us, taking us further away from the multiple different realities that exist in our world. Our education system has made us develop a limited worldview and definition of success wherein we tend to follow the set norms.
We are not taught to question the systems around us which make us operate from a mindset of scarcity. We give importance to commodities rather than connections with each other as well as the ecosystem.
This linear approach that we follow makes us oblivious to the inequalities around us and creates further alienation from our own selves.
Hence, through Gramya Manthan, we create such spaces for young people which enable them to create meaning for themselves and the world around.

Process of GRAMYA MANTHAN

Gramya Manthan is rooted in the timeless principles of the circle. The facilitators co-create a space for each participant to express her/his unique self as we learn together. Learning happens in three ways:
• We learn from each other
• We learn with each other
• We learn from our own self in the company of each other
The focus of our experience is curiosity and understanding and serving with kindness. Letting our “curiosity be greater than our criticality” creates a context for new ideas to emerge from within. As we step past our preconceived ideas we push our imagination to hold a larger vision of a more just, cooperative and sustainable human world. In the process, we enhance our leadership potential by being more aware of our own inner journey and develop a better understanding of the narratives that guide our thinking and our lives.
The process of inviting you to be a participant to the program, is more akin to matchmaking than a process of selection or rejection. In this process we will engage with you, sharing our part of the story and holding great curiosity to know yours.
