World Robot Olympiad India (WRO India) is one of the largest Robotics competition in India for students between the age group of 9 to 25 years, held since 2006. It is a not-for-profit competition jointly organized by India Stem Foundation and National Council of science and Museum.


WRO 2017 is being jointly organized by India STEM Foundation and National Council of Science Museums (NCSM).

India STEM Foundation is a pioneer in promoting hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) education in India with the intervention of Robotics and research based learning programs for school and college students. National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) is India’s premier body playing a key role in the growth of science and technology by organizing various science education programs, activities and trainings within and outside of Schools and Colleges at its science centres spread across the country. An engineering challenge for college and university students. The challenge is to make a robot that can score as many points as possible in a robot version of the Tetris® game called Tetrastack. The robot will locate, identify, and stack interlocking colored shapes called tetracubes within the Stacking Form – a rectangular upright box.

This year students are expected to come up with innovative solutions using robotics technology to create Sustainabots.


An exciting Robot soccer match that requires students to design and program two robots to compete against an opposing pair of robots by kicking an infra-red ball into opposing team’s goal.


The Regular Category is a challenge based competition in which students must build construct and program their robots to solve a challenge.
