The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai is organizing a Workshop Series for School Teachers: Storytelling with Children from June 25 to September 10, 2021.
Teachers are expected to commit a total of 60 hours for the learning experience over 12 weeks. Each week, teachers would participate in synchronous workshop for two hours and are expected to spend three hours on their own for personal practice/ project.
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 and was awarded the ‘Deemed to be University status in 1964. TISS is fully funded by the University Grants Commission, Government of India, and operates from its main campus in Mumbai, and the off-campuses at Tuljapur, Guwahati, and Hyderabad.
- Week 1-4: Exploring the tools, skills and personality of a storyteller
- Week 5-10: Practice Workshop
- Week 10-12: Storytelling Project
Who can Attend?
Teachers of all grades and subject specializations are eligible to apply. No prior experience necessary.
Kindly fill the application form. It includes writing a Statement of Purpose (Describing in 250- 500 words – Why do you intend to participate in this workshop series?) Candidates will shortlisted on the basis of application and notified via email.

A certificate of participation is granted to participants on satisfactory completion of the workshops and project. The workshops would be held online. The sessions will be interactive and are expected to be attended live. The sessions will not be recorded for viewing later. However, recordings of key learnings and resources would be shared by the facilitator as texts and videos.
