About the workshop

Footwear is meant to enhance safety, improve performance, and reduce stress on the human body. However, not all footwear can make a positive impact on a person, and some could be detrimental, if not carefully selected. The various effects of footwear will be highlighted in this workshop.
This workshop will undoubtedly be useful to academicians, practitioners, designers, researchers, and all other working in the area of footwear who strive to incorporate the biomechanical and ergonomics principles into footwear to enhance performance, safety, and comfort and to reduce injury.

Objective
  • To understand foot mechanics and footwear sciences
  • To inculcate scientific skills of foot and footwear analysis
  • To empower coaches, trainers, physiotherapists, sportspersons and physical educators to select diagnostic footwear according to specific demands of sports training and performances.
Who can participate

The participants to the workshop can be Faculty Members, Ph.D students/General Public act who have a strong interest to understand the science of footwear.

How to Apply

Interested candidates are requested to send their nomination to the organizing secretary latest by 20th Jan 2020 through registration form in prescribed format along with a Cash/Online/DD in favour of SOFT-2020, A/C No 38936625269, State Bank of India, IFSC code : SBIN0000211, Branch Code: 211, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (UP).

Registration Fees

Registration fees is Rs 1500/- (Workshop fee includes kit, certificate, high tea & snacks during workshop only) Lunch can be provided to participants on payment bases in Departmental Canteen.
