About us

NUJS Kolkata is one of the most premier law universities in the country and a member of the prestigious National Law University family.  The Legal Aid Society functions under the aegis of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences and seeks to generate awareness regarding Indian law among different sections of the society.

Purpose of the Workshop

As school students constitute a strong and vibrant demographic unit of Indian society, our workshop is meant to provide them with an opportunity to learn about various aspects of law which are relevant in everyday life.

School students in Kolkata will get the opportunity to learn from and interact with expert members of the Law faculty at NUJS, Kolkata in the course of engaging interactive sessions which will provide them with an experience of what life and studies at a premier law university.

Each student shall have the opportunity of participating in four diverse sessions which will provide them with a glimpse of how knowledge regarding the law can be applied in the real world. There are shall be three foundational sessions and two specialized sessions out of which each student will be allotted one session based on preference expressed and first cum first serve.

Eligibility

The sessions are open for all school students. We particularly encourage law aspirants and those appearing for CLAT to participate.

Dates

The workshop shall take place on February 23, 2019.

We shall be accepting applications till February 7, 2019. Slots will be confirmed by February 8, 2019.

Application and Registration

Schools are requested to provide the names of 3 students and 1 teacher who shall be attending. The registration fee for each school contingent is Rs 500.

Individual applications from students shall also be accepted. The registration fee for individual student participants is Rs 150.

Registration fee shall be payable in cash at the time of registration on the morning of the Workshop.
