Workshop on Design and Construction Failure of Pavements at RGPV, Bhopal [Feb 29]: Registrations Open
About the Programme
For rapid economic, social and cultural development of any country, a good system of transportation is very essential. A good network of roads contributes a lot for a good transportation system in addition to railways, waterways and airways. A huge amount of investment is required every year to maintain roads. Most of the road maintenance works are done on an emergency basis; as a result proper quality control is not always possible.
Due to lack of quality control, roads and highways need early and repeated maintenance. To avoid or at least to reduce high maintenance costs for a developing country like ours it is very important to study and take into consideration various factors of deterioration of pavements while designing as well as during the construction of the same.
Experts from academic institute and field along with executives from companies manufacturing equipments for quality control of pavement construction would be coming together to share their priceless knowledge and experience in this program. The program would provide a chance to the participants for better understanding of the subject issues and enhancing their knowledge to cope up with practical problems often faced in the field.
It is intended that the workshop would cover the following aspects related to pavements.
- Pavement design
- Pavement construction
- Pavement design failure
- Pavement construction failure
- Remedial measures for pavement failure
- Causes of pavement failure
- Equipment for quality control of pavement construction.
