Workshop on Emergent Gravity Paradigm at Cochin University of Science and Technology [Nov 8-10]: Register by Sept 25
Originally known as the University of Cochin, the institution came into being in 1971 through an act of the Kerala Legislature, which was the result of a campaign for postgraduate education in the state. It was renamed Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986. The objectives were the promotion of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and advanced research in applied science, technology, industry, commerce, management, and social sciences.
Admissions are based on an All India Entrance Examination known as the Common Admission Test (CAT), conducted by the university for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Departmental Admission Tests (DAT) are conducted for some postgraduate courses.
CUSAT has at present 29 Departments of study and research offering, Graduate and Post Graduate programs across a wide spectrum of disciplines in frontier areas of Engineering, Science, Technology, Humanities, Law & Management. The University has academic links and exchange programs with several institutions across the globe.
The workshop will focus on the Emergent gravity paradigm, an active research field in the area of Gravitation and Cosmology. Research scholars and young faculties working in related areas and highly motivated Masters students are encouraged to apply.
