About the Organiser
The Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNB Garhwal University), first established in December 1973, was subsequently established as a Central University in January 2009. This University has 3 campuses and more than 180 affiliated colleges and institutes (both state-run/aided and self-financed). The University offers a variety of higher learning courses and academic programmes through 10 Faculties.
About the Workshop
The Department of Statistics, H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar (G) is organizing a workshop/conference on “Role of Recent Applied Statistical Techniques in Interdisciplinary Research” sponsored by ICSSR, New Delhi. The workshop will held from February 20-22, 2020.
Statistics plays a vital role in interdisciplinary research. The workshop/conference has been designed in such a way that it covers the major aspects of the latest trend. There has been significant development in the field of statistics which are now been applied to various fields. This event will put emphasis on the latest trend and would provide a platform for the exchange of new innovations and ideas.
The workshop/conference aims to sensitize participants about the use of statistical software for policy-planning and decision making. The participants will be exposed to data analysis using various statistical software. The main objective of the event is to train to the participants for using statistical software such as SPSS, R.
The primary objectives of this event are to assess the past developments in the field of statistics and then to discuss the future directions of statistical theory. Emphasis will also be placed to discuss the necessary reforms in statistical training and education because statistics have become an integral part of almost every area of life including social science.
The workshop/ conference will provide an opportunity for exploring the potential of their applications in new interdisciplinary area. There will be one session for paper presentation. Eminent experts are invited to deliver lectures.

The registration fee will be submitted directly to the department of statistics at the time of registration.
