The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli is organizing an Online Workshop on Additive Manufacturing from November 2 to 7, 2020 for Faculty Members, Scholars, and Students of Engineering colleges & for Practicing Engineers.
The National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, situated in the heart of Tamil Nadu was started as a joint and cooperative venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1964 with a view for catering to the needs of man-power in technology for the Country.
NIT Tiruchirappalli is one of the 31 NITs established by the Government of India. The Institute retained its No.1 position among all NITs and ranked 9th in Engineering in the “India Rankings 2020” released by NIRF, MHRD Government of India.
The present workshop deals with all possible aspects connected with metal additive manufacturing including a brief introduction, different metal additive manufacturing processes, design and metallurgical aspects of metal additive manufacturing, microstructure-property correlations, process and property modeling, and simulations, standardization of the process, and structural integrity of materials.
The topics covered in this course are very useful for the faculty and students of Metallurgy, Mechanical, Production, and Automobile Engineering as they study and teach these topics in courses namely, additive manufacturing and metallurgy of metal additive manufacturing.
- Additive Manufacturing – Basics
- Additive Manufacturing Design
- Metallurgy of additive manufacturing
- Selective Laser Melting
- Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing
- Functionally Graded Materials
- Additive Manufacturing Standards
- Structural Integrity of Materials
- Modeling aspects, etc.
