Ramanujan College, Delhi University is organizing a Webinar Series on Financial Market: Avenues for Alternate Career from September 28 to 30, 2020.
Ramanujan College, named after one of the greatest Indian mathematicians, is one of the colleges of the University of Delhi. It is an Accredited ‘Grade A’ by NAAC. It holds an all India rank ’42’ in Commerce colleges and ’53’ in Arts colleges as per India Today’s Ranking 2020. It holds an All India rank of ’61’ as per NIRF ranking, MHRD, Government of India in 2020. It runs fourteen full-fledged courses. It also has trained thousands of teachers under the Teaching Learning Center of MHRD.

Webinar Objectives

In this present health pandemic situation, when unemployment is on its peak and people are facing a major problem of financial crunch, the Department of Commerce, Ramanujan College, University of Delhi has organized three-day webinars with the objective of helping students to get detailed knowledge about finance and investment. This will help them in developing a financial plan according to their requirements and enable them to grab the opportunities existing in financial markets to build a successful future.

Learning Outcomes

After the successful completion of this program, participants will be able to understand:

  • When and how to start investing in the stock market.
  • Identify possible planning opportunities in the financial market and building a portfolio.
  • How to manage finance in a situation of a financial crisis.

  1. When to start investing in the stock market?; How to accumulate initial capital
  2. Quantum to start: Types of instruments to start with; Risk bifurcation between Instruments/ Investment alternative; Using stock search engines.
  3. How to start investing in the stock market?; How to select stocks in initial years/ stage 1; Discussion on Top Stocks; How to pick and to track stock performance as per (Warren Buffet’s and Philip Fisher’s investment technique); What not to do for a consistent profit earner.
Resource Person

Dr. Sunaina Kanojia, Associate Professor at Department of Commerce, Faculty of Commerce and Business, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. Dr. Kanojia is also OSD at the Institute of Cyber Security & Law, University of Delhi. She has various articles in journals of repute and books to her credit.
Her area of interest includes Investment Management, Corporate Governance, Industrial Laws, and Cyber Crime. She has been the resource person for many webinars held in the area of financial planning organized by colleges of the University of Delhi including Ram Lal Anand College, PGDAV College, and other reputed institutions like Nirmala College, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala and many others. At present, eleven M.Phil and seven Ph.D.’s have been awarded and six Ph.D. scholars are pursuing their research under her supervision in the area of finance and corporate governance.
