Webinar on Understanding India by IISc, Bangalore [June 28, 4 PM]: Registrations Open


The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore is organizing a Webinar on Understanding India on June 28, 2021 from 4 pm onwards.

In this series, experts from different fields of human endeavour will provide their insights into some of the lesser discussed facets of India.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a public, deemed, research university for higher education and research in science, engineering, design, and management. It is located in Bangalore (Bengaluru), in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Webinar Backdrop

The lecture will foreground some of the key issues and challenges to governance in India in their contemporary and historical context. It will focus on how the Government of India works and relates to the people. Drawing from his UG-IISc humanities course “Introduction to Governance in India”, the speaker will elaborate on the defense and security situation, COVID-19 and the government’s response including vaccinations, economic consequences of the lockdown, measures to restore the economy and developments.
