CBSE is conducting a Webinar on Digital Citizenship & Digital Wellness & Digital Citizenship Educators Challenge on December 1.
About
As today’s world is undergoing a rapid technological transformation and youth is spending increasingly more time in the digital world, there is a greater need to make digital safety a priority. We need to empower our youth to become responsible & safe digital citizens and help them to use technology in a positive way.
Teachers will play a large role in making this vision a reality. Teachers hold the key to enable students to remain safe online and teach them etiquettes required to thrive in a digitally driven world.
With this view, a 75-minute interactive awareness webinar is being organized for teachers on ‘Digital Citizenship and Digital Wellness’ on 1st December 2021, during which teachers will be oriented on the need for integrating responsible Digital Citizenship in schools and ensuring Digital Well-Being of students.
Topics
During this webinar, a special Digital Citizenship Educators Challenge will also be launched inviting submissions from teachers on how to nurture students into responsible Digital Citizens. As part of this challenge teachers can submit their entries on – what they are doing to keep students safe online, best practices on online safety, innovative ideas for teaching digital wellbeing in the classroom, activities to make learning effective for students.
The initiative is being collectively taken by CBSE and Meta Platforms Inc. (previously known as Facebook Inc.). Over the next 3 years, we wish to empower 1 million teachers and educators to become responsible Digital Citizens and also help sensitize/train teachers/educators and develop a curriculum on Digital Safety, Online Well-Being and Augmented Reality (AR) for students in India.
