NIT Warangal is organising Webinar on Advanced Design of Deep Foundations for Seismic, Bridge and Offshore Applications on 23-27 August 2021. The last date of registration is 22 August.
About the Webinar
The modern-day geotechnical engineers have a huge responsibility to design infrastructure that are to be constructed on soils having low bearing capacity. Dealing with very large design loads and a poor soil at shallow depth, or site constraints like property lines, a deep foundation is likely to be the optimum solution.
Deep foundation which is placed at a greater depth below the ground surface, derives its support from competent strata and the construction process of a deep foundation is more complex and relatively expensive than shallow foundations. Deep foundations are usually subjected to different types of loads namely seismic, cyclic, axial, lateral, and uplift loads. Hence design of these deep foundations for different applications is complex in nature.
This workshop focuses on the advanced design of deep foundations for seismic, high-rise, bridge, and offshore applications. It covers all the aspects related to design and application of various techniques available for design of deep foundations. Finally, the course describes the design procedures for actively and passively loaded piles.
This workshop also provides hands on experience for participants in the software such as PLAXIS 3D, GeoStudio, and Abaqus. It would help participants to apply the design principles suitable for seismic, bridge, and offshore applications.
The program is open to all faculty members, research scholars, students of all educational/ research institutions and industry professionals.
