About the Webinar
Microplastic are pieces of plastic which are less than 5 mm size such. Such plastic is leaking into water paths and ultimately getting accumulated ocean/ other big water body. This plastic is entering into marine/aquatic life or in other words, food web and can impact human food safety and health.
The microplastic pollution has got the attention worldwide and a lot of research is being done in the area to find the solution for plastic pollution. It is important to quantify the microplastics and its types to design effective countermeasure/solution for stopping the microplastic pollution.
In order to quantify the microplastic, its sampling and analysis is an important step. The standard protocol for sampling and analysis are under development however an effort is being made to understand how it can be scientifically sampled and analysed.
