About the Webinar

The Literary and Debating Club is the oldest and most prestigious club of NIT Calicut, nurturing the spirit of the institute for over half a century.

With the World Mental Health Day coming up on the 10th of October, they are organizing a talk on “Mental Health in Schools and Colleges” with Dr. S Girija, MBBS, MSc Psychology and PhD in Behavioral Science.

Today’s youth, especially students, experience disabling levels of anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions. In these trying times mental health is a key issue for all educational institutions and now, more than ever, we need to support student wellbeing.

This calls for a dialogue on “Mental Health in Schools and Colleges” to bring about appropriate sensitivity towards the topic. Following up on our efforts for the Mental Illness Awareness week, The Literary & Debating Club will be taking up this discussion.

About the Speaker
  • Dr. S Girija, MBBS, MSc Psychology and PhD in Behavioral Science.
  • She is a professional counselor and medical consultant who has spent umpteen years treating and helping others through her professional and social endeavors.
