About the Webinar

Extended producer responsibility (EPR) is a practice and a policy approach in which producers take responsibility for management of the disposal of products they produce when those products are no longer useful by consumers. It is the commitment made by a producer to facilitate a reverse collection mechanism and recycling of end of life, post-consumer waste.

The objective is to circle it back into the system to recover resources embedded in the waste. Recently, India has framed laws which have introduced the concept of Extended Producer Responsibility for plastic packaging waste and e-waste Polluter pays principle has been one of the most significant principles with respect to waste management.
