About the Competition
In 2020, Die Junge Akademie will be 20 years old. In our anniversary year, they will focus on one of the most important topics of our time: climate change and our relationship to the natural world in general. This will also bring the issue of sustainability to the forefront.
With this wide-ranging online competition, they want to provoke a change of perspective with regards to this major social issue. Instead of negative visions of the future, our competition aims to combine concrete solutions with positive visions: visions for a sustainable society and way of life. We are looking for entries in two categories:
- In the VISIONS category, we are looking for visionary designs for a society that is not only oriented towards sustainability in an ecological and economic sense. The theme of sustainability should also inspire our coexistence on other levels – social, cultural, aesthetic, etc. In this first category, we are, so to speak, concerned with the “bigger picture”.
- The SOLUTIONS category, on the other hand,is all about ideas for original solutions to sustainability-related problems – big or small. These may also be ideas that have already been implemented, but are perhaps not yet comprehensive enough. In any case, they must be your own ideas. Behind this second category is the idea that technical and technological solutions are indispensable for a sustainable way of life.
- The competition is for everyone – no matter how old you are, what you do or where you come from.
- Both individuals and teams can enter the competition. There are no costs to enter the competition; entry is free.
- 1st place: 2,000 Euros
- 2nd place: 1,500 Euros
- 3rd place: 1,000 Euros
Winners will be notified of their prize by email. Participants whose entries could not be considered for a prize will also be notified by us shortly afterwards. The awards ceremony will take place in public as part of an event organised by Die Junge Akademie.
