The Department of Computer Science and Engg. (CSE), National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal is organizing an Online Center for Continuing Education (CCE) Programme on Soft Computing Techniques for Emerging Application from October 5 to 9, 2020.
National Institute of Technology Warangal, formerly known as Regional Engineering College was established in 1959. Over the years it has developed into a premier institute of higher learning and is ranked among the top technical education institutions in India.
There are 13 Departments offering eight undergraduate and 32 post-graduate programs besides doctoral programs. About 5000 students across the country and about 500 international students study in the campus. It is a fully residential campus sprawling over 250 acres with excellent infrastructure, state of the art library, seminar halls, guest houses, and laboratories.

Course Objectives
  • The objective of the program is to introduce fundamentals of soft computing with its applications.
  • The program would help the participants to understand the key concepts behind soft computing.
  • Identify the soft computing algorithms which are more appropriate for emerging applications.
  • This program also focuses on exploring various research opportunities and challenges in the field of soft computing and its applications.
Course Content

The objective of this program is to equip the participants with the theory, essential tools, and real-life applications of soft computing. The program will comprise lectures and hands-on sessions on the following topics:

  1. Genetic Algorithm
  2. Particle Swarm Optimization
  3. Ant Colony Optimization
  4. Teaching Learning Based Optimization
  5. Jaya Algorithm
  6. Simulated Annealing
  7. Fuzzy Logic
  8. Neural Networks
  9. Hybrid Intelligent Techniques
  10. Case Studies of Soft Computing.
Who can Attend?

The program is open to the faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, research scholars, PG students, UG students, industry personnel, and staff of NIT, Warangal.

Resource Person

The resource persons for the FDP are from IITs/ NITs/ IIITs/ central universities/ other reputed institutions/ industries and host institution NIT Warangal.

Registration Fees
  1. Faculty, Post-Doctoral Fellows, Research Scholars, PG Students, UG Students: Rs. 500/-
  2. Industry Participants: Rs. 1000/-

  • Applicants who are selected for the FDP will be intimated via email and confirm their participation for the FDP by return email.
