About Thiagarajar College of Engineering

Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai, an ISO 9001:2008 certified Institution, affiliated to the Anna University is one among the several educational and philanthropic institutions. It was established in the year 1957 and granted Autonomy in the year 1987. TCE is funded by Central and State Governments and Management. TCE is an approved QIP centre for pursuing Ph.D. programmes in Engineering.

About TEQIP

The World Bank supported Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) is a long term programme, being implemented in three phases for a systemic transformation of the Technical Education System in India.

In its second phase (TEQIP II), around 200 engineering institutions spread across India have been competitively selected to implement the project enabling the institutions to improve the quality of Technical education through institutional reforms.

Objective of the Workshop

Block Chain is a leading software platform for digital assets. It is a data structure used to create a decentralized ledger and is composed of blocks in a serialized manner. Experts attribute a fundamental impact on diverse areas of society to block chain and perceive that as the most important technology in the field of smart contracts.

The invention of the block chain for bitcoin made it the first digital currency to solve the double-spending problem. The bitcoin design has inspired other applications, and block chains which are readable by the public are widely used by cryptocurrencies. The workshop aims at giving an overview about the block chain, its characteristics, applications and implications.

  • Introduction to Block chain Technologies
  • Bitcoin
  • Block chain applications and case studies
  • Research trends and challenges
  • Hands-on session on Bitcoin and open source tools
Eligibility
  • Faculty members from ACTE approved engineering colleges.
  • Research scholars working in R&D organizations and Institutions.
How to Apply

Applications duly filled in the prescribed format should reach the Coordinator on or before 18th November, 2018 along with a demand draft drawn in favor of “THE PRINCIPAL, THIAGARAJAR COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING” payable at Madurai, towards the registration fee. Registration form can also be downloaded from the website www.tce.edu.

Registration Fee

Faculty members – Rs.1000/- Research Scholars (FT) – Rs.600/- Registration fee includes course kit, refreshment and working lunch. The selection of the candidates will made as first come first serve basis.
