Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College was founded by Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru in 1961 as a joint effort of Govt. of India and Govt. of U.P. in accordance with the scheme of establishment of Regional Engineering College. It has constantly grown and crossed many milestones during its journey in more than four decades towards academic excellence.
Its basic aim is to provide high-quality technical education and research. It offers nine undergraduate courses and 22 postgraduate courses in engineering and technology, besides MBA and MCA and Doctoral Programmes in wide areas of specialization.
The institute possesses modern facilities and offers a congenial environment for research and development activities in almost all the major fields of engineering. MNNIT campus is situated on Allahabad-Lucknow highway.
The course will enable the participants to understand fundamentals and enrich their knowledge about the new revised and updated codes for the structural design of water-retaining. It is proposed to give the hand-on experience of design of important water retaining structures This will help the participants to improve their teaching, research and design capabilities in these areas.
It is proposed to cover changes introduced in revised IS– 3370, IS–189, IS-875, IS-11682. It is also proposed to discuss ductile detailing of water retaining structures to perform better in earthquake/wind condition. The course contents will be covered through power- point presentations, interactive sessions, group discussions, brainstorming sessions, etc. Laboratory classes shall be conducted to provide hands-on experience in the software.
The candidate should have B.E./ B.Tech./ Diploma in any branch of engineering. Preference will be given to the candidates having higher qualifications.
