About the Event
Shaastra, the annual technical festival of IIT Madras, set to happen from 25th to 28th this month. Shaastra manifests the Spirit of Engineering since 2000 for the young and creative minds to explore the trending fields of sci-tech and bring them out of the ordinary. Shaastra offers numerous workshops and many events for the entire student community.
As fascinated as we are about technology, we have deep concern for our society as well. Every year SHAASTRA rolls out unique, impactful and lasting social campaigns, aimed at bettering the life of common people. We look at the most prevalent social and economic issues of the time and come up with innovative and economical solutions to tackle them.
Last year, our social campaign was BLINK – A social initiative for the upliftment of 1000+ visually impaired children and adults. We transformed the education of the blind through 3D printed Braille puzzles, assisted visually impaired in their placement procedure, enhancing their soft skills through different sessions.
Before that, ReACH converted disposed cardboard cartons into desks for school children and again the year before that, Bubbles aimed at cultivating the habit of washing hands. This year, She Can campaign is focused on empowering women into various fields and enhancing their financial literacy.

Registration
The website of the fest has the list of all the events. To register for any of the events you need to first create a “Login ID” and password. You can create that here.
Once you have signed up, you need to log in and visit the name of the event from the home page of the website. There you can find a portal that enables registrations (for teams and individuals both).
