The University of Madras is a public state university in Chennai (formerly Madras), Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1857, it is one of the oldest universities in India. The university was incorporated by an Act of the Legislative Council of India.

About the Seminar

The National Seminar on Education and Skill Enhancement for Human Resource Development is organised by the Department of Adult and Continuing Education, University of Madras from Jan 23-24, 2020.

Education is the process of facilitating learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training and directed research. Skill development is no longer a matter of choice. It is imperative to adapt, survive and succeed. We work in an era where dealing with sustainable and disruptive trends is essential to success. The skills and knowledge are acquired as a part of his academic qualification.

Building the skills and competencies of human resource is essential for ensuring the competitiveness of business productivity in the global economy. The human resource system recognizes that training for individuals must align with the needs for business and industry. The development of human capital is thus important and necessary since it drives the nation to create vision and establish an adequate mission. The teaching and learning processes in institutions of higher learning should be capable of providing such knowledge and skills to future graduates.

Submission Procedure

Abstract and full paper should be submitted using MS-Word, Times New Roman, Font size 12, Headings 14 and 1.5 line spacing. Only soft copies of the abstract and full paper should be submitted to the given e-mail ID: dacehod[at]

Registration Fee
  • Students / Scholars: Rs. 500/-
  • Academicians and Industry Delegates: Rs.1000/-

The filled-in registration form should be sent through e-mail (dacehod[at] The payment should be made through Fund Transfer / RTG’s in favour of “Professor and Head, Department of Adult Education, University of Madras” payable at Chennai.
