Libraries, primarily promote access to information regardless of caste, creed, age, gender, nationality, economic or social status and any other disparity. Identifying, collecting, collating, organizing, disseminating and archiving of information have been the goals of libraries and will remain forever.
These goals have continued, but the methods of achieving have changed. The shift of methods of handling information is due to the ever-changing characteristics of information carrier – so long it was in print form, and now it is becoming more and more digital.
