Following are the scholarship schemes offered by various governmental and non-government institutes.

1. Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme for 10+2 Passed Students of J&K and Ladakh

Online Registration for the Academic Session 2020-21 under Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) is open from 6th July  2020 for 10+2 passed students of Jammu & Kashmir and the Ladakh States.

  • Eligibility: Passed 10+2 examination from (JKBOSE or CBSE Schools located in J&K and Ladakh) in the Academic Year 2018-19 or 2019-20.
  • Amount/offering:
    • General Degree Academic: Rs. 30,000 per annum, Hostel: Rs. 1 Lakh per annum.
    • Professional (Engg./ Nursing/ Pharmacy/ Hotel Management/ Architecture etc): Academic: Upto Rs. 1.25 Lakh per annum, Hostel: Rs. 1 Lakh per annum.
    • Medical/BDS or equivalent Academic: Upto Rs. 3 Lakh per annum, Hostel: Rs. 1 Lakh per annum.

2. NSDL Shiksha Sahyog Scholarship for Class 11 Students

NSDL has extended the application deadline for the Shiksha Sahyog scholarships in 2020. This scholarship program is designed for helping students who cannot afford quality education due to the high fees structure. NSDL Shiksha Sahyog scholarships would encourage them to counter their financial constraints and pursue academic excellence and career opportunities.

  • Eligibility: Class 11 Scholarship: Minimum 60% in Class 10

3. R.D. Birla Scholarship Exam 2020 for School Students

The objective of the R.D.BIRLA Scholarship Exam is to identify young talents and support their dreams of achieving the next level of academic excellence. The scholarship exam tests higher-order thinking skills from the field of Science & Mathematics.

  • Eligibility: Students from grades 1 to 10 of all recognized education boards in India can participate in this exam.
  • Amount/offering:
    • Brainiacs: Rs. 1,00,000
    • Super Genius: Rs. 75,000
    • Genius: Rs. 50,000

4. Albert Einstein International Scholarship Test 2020 for School Students

5. Swami Dayanand Scholarship Program for Delhi/NCR School Students

The aim of this scholarship is to inspire and transform the lives of brilliant and economically backward students. Educating youth has an impact not only on the individual but the family, the community and the country as a whole. The scholarship will be awarded for studies in India in a government or private school from class IX TO XII.

  • Eligibility:
    • Candidate should be studying in the Govt & Private schools recognized by CBSE Board
    • The gross annual income of the family of the candidate from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakhs per annum.
    • The scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination
    • The Scholarship is open for Delhi/NCR region only.
  • Amount/offering:
    • Smt. Shyam Lata Garg Scholarships for Class 12 Students – ₹5,000 per annum
    • Sh. Anand Swarup Garg Scholarships for Class 11 Students – ₹4,000 per annum
    • Sh. Ram Lal Gupta Scholarships for Class 10 Students – ₹3,000 per annum
    • Smt. Sheela Gupta Scholarships for Class 9 Students – ₹2,000 per annum

6. Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for Meritorious Girl Students

The Scheme of “Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship” for Meritorious Girl Students belonging to the Minority Communities was earlier known as “Maulana Azad National Scholarship for Meritorious Girls belonging Minorities” and the same was launched by the then Prime Minister of India (late) Atal Bihari Vajpayee at National Conference of Educational & Economic Development of Minorities held on 03.05.2003 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

  • Eligibility:
    • Only girl students belonging to six notified Minority Communities i.e. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis are eligible.
    • The scholarship will be awarded to minorities’ girl students who are studying in Class 9th to 12th, and have secured at-least 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate in previous class/qualifying exam.
    • The annual income of student’s parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakh.
  • Amount/offering: Amount of scholarship will be provided Rs.5000/each for Class IX & X and Rs.6000/-each for Class XI & XII.

7. Vahani Scholarship for School Students 

Vahani scholarship is a not-for-profit organisation working to further the education and prospects of children from underprivileged backgrounds in India. Its mission is to send Indian students who come from extenuating and unfortunate circumstances to the top universities across India.

  • Eligibility:
    • It is a merit cum mean scholarship, the applicant’s family annual income should be less than 1.5 lac per annum. The applicant should have scored 85% or above in the 11th standard and 10th Board Examination.
    • The scholarship is open for students studying in the 12th grade and who will appear for the Board Examination next year, who have scored 85% or above in 10th and 11th Board Examinations and are applying for an undergraduate degree in India.
  • Amount/offering:
    • Vahani Scholarship will support the scholar’s full tuition fee for the entire duration of the course.
    • The scholar receives a fixed stipend as travel allowance, College Textbooks, hostel/PG rent, in case the scholar moves out and food.
    • In addition, the scholar receives a stipend to purchase a laptop and fully covered return journey back and forth from home once in a year.

8. LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme

The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a government or private college/university. It will also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).

  • Eligibility:
    • For Regular Scholar:
      • All candidates who have passed Class XII exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade) in the Academic Year 2019-20 and whose parents/guardian have an annual income (from all sources) not exceeding Rs.2,00,000 per annum are eligible to apply for scholarship.
      • All candidates who have passed Class X exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade) in the Academic Year 2019-20 and whose parents/guardian have an annual income (from all sources) not exceeding Rs.2,00,000 per annum.
    • For Special Girl Child Scholar:
      • To encourage education to girl child, Special scholarship for Girl Child after class 10 for pursuing higher studies in 10 + 2 pattern for two years. The candidate who have passed Class X exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade) in the Academic Year 2019-20 and whose parents/guardian have an annual income (from all sources) not exceeding Rs.2,00,000 per annum.
  • Amount/offering:
    • An amount of Rs.20,000/- per annum will be awarded to the selected Regular Scholar and shall be payable in three instalments.
    • An amount of Rs.10,000/ per annum will be awarded for selected Special Girl Child pursuing studies in the 10 + 2 Course and scholarship shall be payable in three instalments.

9. CBSE Merit Scholarship for Single Girl Child

The objective of CBSE merit scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents; and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with 60% or more marks and are continuing their further school education of Class XI and XII.

The scheme is aimed to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students.

  • Eligibility:
    • All Single Girl Students, who have secured 60% or more marks in CBSE Class X Examination and are studying Class XI & XII in School (affiliated with CBSE) whose tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500/- p.m. during the academic year, shall be considered for the purpose. In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in such school shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged.
    • The scholarship shall be awarded to Indian Nationals only.
    • The student must continue her school studies in Class XI and XII in school.
    • Candidate who have passed CBSE Class X Examination in 2020 will be considered.
    • A Scholar under the scheme while availing scholarship can enjoy other concession(s) given by the school in which she is studying other organization(s)
  • Amount/offering:
    • The rate of the scholarship shall be Rupees Five Hundred (Rs. 500/-) per month. A Scholarship awarded under the scheme shall be paid for a maximum period of two years.
    • Payment will be made through ECS/NEFT.

10. SOF Scholarship of Excellence in English (SOF SEE)

This scholarship is an endeavour by the Science Olympiad Foundation to recognize and reward excellence in the English language among school students in India.

  • Eligibility:
    • The student should have scored at least 90% marks or equivalent grade in English subject in annual aggregate in previous class.
    • A student should have scored at least 85% or equivalent grades in previous year’s exams as aggregate.
  • Amount/offering:
    • Under S.E.E., a scholarship of Rs. 5000 each plus a Merit Certificate is given to 120 students in India in recognition of their excellence in the English language.

11. Aruna Lal Scholarship by Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad

Aruna Lal Scholarships is awarded to meritorious students selected based on an ONLINE screening test, followed by competitive events and personal interview via ONLINE mode. The Aruna Lal scholarship has been instituted by Late Prof. Devendra Lal, former Director of Physical Research Laboratory.

  • Eligibility: Principals of higher secondary schools of Gujarat are requested to nominate students of 11th standard (Science stream). Register the school using the School Registration menu and subsequently nominate your student(s). The schools having multiple mediums (English/ Gujarati/ Hindi) can register each medium separately. Each medium can nominate a maximum of five students.

12. Pre Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste Students From Tripura State [Class 9 & 10]

The Pre Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste Students From Tripura State is offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

  • Eligibility:
    • The student should belong to Scheduled Caste.
    • His/ her Parent/Guardian’s income should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum.
    • He / she should not be getting any other Centrally-funded Pre Matric Scholarship. However benefit of National Means-cum- Merit scholarship scheme of D/o School Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development can be availed by the beneficiaries of Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC students.
    • In pursuance to the provision of Section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act 2016, a student is required to furnish proof of possession of Aadhaar or undergo Aadhaar Authentication. If not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, student is required to make application for Aadhaar enrolment.
    • She/ he should be a regular, full time student studying in a Government School or in a School recognized by Govt. or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
    • Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, she / he would not get scholarship for that class for a second (or subsequent) year.
  • Amount/offering:
