In order to contribute towards capacity building of scholars working in the field of international trade, RIS, in association with the Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank), would be organising the Fourth edition of the Summer School programme in New Delhi during the period June 10-19, 2019, which is open to M.Phil and Ph.D. students specialising in international trade.

RIS is a premier policy research organisation working on international economic issues. Over the years, RIS has gained prominence for its contribution to research and policy in areas like multilateral trading system, regional trading arrangements, comprehensive economic cooperation architecture, South-South Cooperation, etc. among others.

Trade, Technology and Investment issues define the core expertise of the institution leading to several research studies and deliberations. Exim Bank is the premier export finance institution of the country set up to finance, facilitate and promote India’s international trade.

As a part of its ongoing efforts to promote economic research and academic excellence, Exim Bank has also taken several initiatives to encourage scholars to undertake focussed economic research studies in various aspects, especially related to international trade and investment.

Eligibility

Candidate must be registered as a M.Phil./Ph.D. student with any recognised Indian
University with specialisation in international economics.

Course Structure

The following modules would be covered during the
course by experts:
Module 1: Recent Developments in Trade Theory
Module 2: Tools and Techniques in Trade Analysis
Module 3: Understanding FTAs and Regional Trading Blocs
Module 4: Issues of Trade in Technology and Classification Issues
Module 5: Trade and Development: IPRs and New Issues
Module 6: Group Presentations

How to apply

Interested candidates are requested to e-mail dully filled the Application Form (given here) to RIS at dgoffice@ris.org.in, latest by 29 May 2019.

Selected candidates would be required to furnish copies of their qualification certificates,
along with an undertaking that they would be attending the course in full and participate in all lectures and activities.

The decision of RIS on the selection of suitable candidates will be final in all respects and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Travel and Meals

Selected candidates outside the NCR region would be reimbursed 2-way AC-II tier train fare or its equivalent on production of receipts. RIS would arrange single room accommodation, meals, along with local transport for their travel to the venue of the course and vice versa.
