Research Meet Seminar IIT GuwahatiAbout:

The Graduate Research Meet is an annual national seminar and researchers’ meet conducted by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. The department, a vibrant centre for research and teaching, is composed of academics from eleven disciplines: Archaeology, Development Studies, Economics, English, Geography, History, Linguistics, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. With its varied range of research interests and expertise, the department promotes interdisciplinary work in humanities and social sciences.

M.Phil. and Ph.D. STUDENTS ONLY

Last date for Submission of Abstracts: July 31, 2019
Intimation of Abstract Selection: August 14, 2019
Last Date of Registration for Selected Participants: September 15, 2019
Last Date for Full Paper Submission: October 1, 2019

Call for Papers’ Instructions:

The GRM Team encourages the students to submit research articles that are in line with the theme “Contemporary Trends in Humanities and Social Sciences” and are interdisciplinary in nature. These can be based on various sources including, ethnography, archival research, field visits, statistical analysis or any innovative research methodologies on social issues.

The accepted submissions will be clustered around common topics and areas of interest. The final program (released approximately about two weeks before the conference) will mirror the research agendas of the delegates.

  1. Kindly note that this Conference is Open for Only Ph.D. and M.Phil. students and hence, persons with a Ph.D. (degree holder) cannot be an author or a co-author.
  2. Abstract(s) will get directly disqualified if it contains Names of the author(s) and any information of Institutional Affiliations of the Participant.
Submission:

For seminar presentations, papers will be allotted 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for discussion. Abstracts should include:

  1. The title of the paper
  2. A list of 3-5 key-words describing the area and focus

Note: Abstracts with participant’s name/Institution’s name/Any other personal details will be rejected.
