Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications for Research Associate Position for the SERB Sponsored Project entitled “Design and Synthesis of Molecular Probes for study of Protein aggregates”.
Job Description: The desired candidate must possess skills to set up multi-step chemical synthesis to develop small fluorescent organic molecules. The candidate will have to characterize the compounds and investigate the photoresponsive properties using multiple spectroscopic methods such as NMR, HR-MS, Fluorescence, Circular Dichroism and may involve use of microscopic techniques such as confocal fluorescence, SEM and TEM. Apart from the research, the applicant may be asked to contribute to other academic activities of the Institute. The candidate is also required to work in a collaborative environment.
Eligibility: PhD in Organic Chemistry or allied subject areas with good scientific publication record. Candidates with a previous research experience in similar fields will be preferred.
Duration: Initial appointment is for 1 year and extendable up to April 2022 based on the performance.
Salary: 47000 INR per month + HRA as applicable.

Job Description: Research associate (RA). The RA will be involved in the development of plasmonic sensors for the detection of specific RNA sequences at low concentrations.
Eligibility: PhD in science with good scientific publication record. The desired candidate must possess skills in nanobiotechnology and plasmonic nanomaterials. Knowledge in single molecule spectroscopy will be desirable.
Duration: Initial appointment is for 6 months extendable up to 1 year based on the performance. Extension beyond 1 year will depend on the availability of funds.
Salary: 47000 INR +HRA as applicable
