IRMA is looking to hire a Research Associate for a project titled ‘Living Farm Incomes: Inequality, Sustainability and Civic Action in India’. The project seeks to further civic action for inclusive agricultural policies through research and policy dialogues on sustainability and equity.
The project encourages co-creation of new knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices with Civil Society Organisations and coalitions in India and explores pathways towards managing sustainability transitions of public systems.
Masters’ degree (social sciences, rural management, development studies, environmental sciences, agricultural extension are preferred) with excellent communication skills (oral and written) can apply. Candidates with relevant experience will be given preference and in exceptional cases of prior experience with civil society organisations or Fellowship programs, those with Bachelors’ degree can also apply. The role involves good interpersonal skills and ability to work within stipulated deadlines.
Tasks would include:
- Research and documentation: (desk based as well as field based both individually and as part of project teams)
- Project management and outreach activities.

Remuneration & Duration
Appointments will be made purely on contract basis for a period of one year (extendable) with a consolidated remuneration in the range of Rs.25,000 to Rs 35,000 per month depending on qualification and experience.
