Project details

Project title: Prediction of coastal zone vulnerability due to sea level rise under the changing climate

About the project: The project aims to evaluate nonlinear coastal hydrodynamics under rising sea level scenarios, estimate the coastal flooding due to various sea level rise scenarios; prepare coastal vulnerability maps based on the flooding scenarios. The position requires strong numerical modelling expertise in ADCIRC and SWAN modelling.

Eligibility

Ph.D/ MD/ MS/ MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and developement experience after MVSc/ M.Pharm/ ME/ M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. Candidates with Water Resources/Ocean Engineering background only will be shortlisted for Interview.

Job Profile

Required to carry out the coupled numerical ADCIRC-SWAN modelling, GIS Mapping, data collection & analysis, preparation of progress report, presentations, and attend review meeting.

Duration

The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project. The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
