The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi invites applications for the post of Research Assistant.

The job of Research Assistant is to assist the Research Program/Fellowship/ Publication and other program divisions of the ICSSR. He/she will be responsible for communicating with the individual/institutions receiving grants from ICSSR and monitoring the Research work funded by the ICSSR apart from other work assigned by the division.

The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) was established in the year 1969 by the Government of India to promote research in social sciences in the country.


The eligible applicant for the post of Research Assistant should have the following qualifications and experience mentioned below:

  1. A Post Graduate degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in any Social Science discipline from a recognized university. 
  2. Three years’ experience as Researcher/ Research Associate/ Research Assistant or Research Administrator in an academic institute/ research organization of repute or Ph.D. in any social science discipline.

The Envelope containing the application should be super-scribed with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF RESEARCH ASSISTANT (Contractual)”. Original certificates should be produced only at the time of interview/test. However, attested photocopies of testimonials may also be attached with the application in support of their educational qualifications and experience etc.
