Applications are solicited for the position of Research Assistant (New Initiatives) in the Alumni & External Relations (AER) Office.

Eligibility

A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is a minimum requirement. Candidates with Master’s degrees are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have minimum 3 years of experience
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Be proficient in use of MS Office, internet/web applications, and social media.
  • Interact with faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders with ease
  • Be able to coordinate with staff from other departments with ease
  • Be a self-starter and take initiative, follow-up, and drive activity
  • Think outside the box to come up with innovative solutions to challenges

Job description

The Research Assistant’s responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Assist in the conceptualization, development, and implementation of new initiatives
  • Assist the faculty, alumni, students and staff in providing support for alumni and external relations activities
  • Coordinate with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan and execute conferences, workshops, events etc
  • Manage communications about relevant activities
  • Prepare and coordinate the preparation of digital/physical collaterals
  • Prepare budget, bills, receipts, and other financial details for relevant activities and coordinate processing of these with the accounts department
  • Prepare reports and writeups of activities and for periodic reporting to the Board
  • Coordinate with other departments for successful task completion
  • Maintain database of relevant details of activities and mailing lists of stakeholders
  • Work with the web executive to assist him in implementing solutions and developments
  • Travel in support of or to conduct alumni and external relations activities, wherever required
  • Any responsibility assigned required for successfully accomplishment of other alumni and external
    relations activities.

Location

The selected candidate would work from IIMA campus. The campus is centrally located within the city of Ahmedabad with proximity to several residential and commercial hubs. Candidates are expected to look for accommodation by themselves, outside the campus.

Tenure

The appointment is initially for six months with a potential for extension based on performance.

Salary & Allowances

Selected candidate will be paid up to Rs 40,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
