About:

The Annual Research and Technology Festival of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of IIT Bombay, Radiance was first initiated in the year 2007. Over the years, it has built its own legacy and reputation of being a platform for fostering brotherhood amongst the Mechanical Engineering fraternity across the nation.

Workshops:

  • Automobile Mechanics and IC Engines: This workshop is designed to provide an insight view in the field of automotive and engine design to the students. All the concepts will be explained in detail with the Help of Theory and with Specially Designed Animations which would help the students to visualize things before actually practically working on it.
    Date – March 4, Fee: INR 900 per applicant
  • Internet of things: The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

    Fee: INR 1000 per applicant

Competitions:

  • RoboSumo: Task is to design a robot whose task is to push the opposing robot out of the circular arena. It can push, drag, or otherwise move the opponent out of arena in given time. The robots would compete one-on-one against each other in a knock-out tournament.
  • Vaigyaniki: It invites submissions of research thesis (papers), creative projects, and innovative product developments pertaining to Mechanical Engineering in following Categories:
  • National Level Senior Championship
  • National Level Junior Championship
  • National Level Championship for CS/IT
  • National Level Championship for MECH/Civil

Exhibitions:

It is a platform for mechanical enthusiasts and students from all over the country to learn experience and interact with experts who have brought these into existence.
