A short academic program on the topic, ‘Quantum Optics & Quantum Technology’ has been Jointly organized by the Department of Materials Science & Raman Centre for Atomic and Molecular Sciences (RCAMOS), Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (Jadavpur, Kolkata) on 5-8 June 2017
The program has two parts:
- Part-I (5-7 June): Semi-pedagogical lectures
- Part-II (8 June): Discussion meeting
This is a short (4-Day) program aiming to discuss the current progress and developments in the fields of Quantum Optics & Quantum Technology; by bringing together academicians and researchers working in these and related fields such as quantum dots, quantum wells, quantum control, quantum engineering, etc.
The purpose of the Part-I is to prepare for technical background and awareness of the current topics of interest in these fields.
The aim of the Part-II is to initiate collective efforts for research and development in these fields in India. The participants of this program are mostly local students and researchers.
Topics to be covered:
- Fundamentals of Quantum Optics & Quantum Information
- Quantum Teleportation, Computing and Quantum Key Distributions with Photons
- Quantum Engineering & Technology
