PSG College of Technology, a premier institution for engineering education in India, started in 1951 has developed into a centre for advanced studies and research in several areas of engineering, technology, applied sciences and management.
The metrology laboratory in Department of Production Engineering has been set up with the aim of catering to the needs of researchers and industry.
Machine Vision System:
Today, manufacturers are using machine vision based metrology to improve their productivity and reduce costs. Machine vision integrates optical components with computerized control systems to achieve greater productivity from existing automated manufacturing equipment.
Machine vision is used for a wide variety of tasks in the automotive industry such as assembly or process verification, flaw detection, gauging, part location and robot guidance etc. Hands on training will be provided on gauging and identification of defects using machine vision system.
The instruments which will be used in this workshop provide a unique opportunity in learning the various types of measuring instruments. It will facilitate the students, faculty and practising engineers to learn the latest practices in metrology.
- To create awareness among engineers on the latest development of machine vision based metrology and its applications in industries.
- To highlight the features and applications of various types of comparators.
- To demonstrate the measurement of surface texture for various assemblies.
- Hands on training in
- Machine Vision System
- Surface Roughness Tester
- Dial Gauge Tester
- Height Master
- Tool Maker’s Microscope
- Profile Projector
- Gear Roll Tester
