About the Organisation
The Directorate for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled was established by bifurcating the Directorate of Social Welfare in 1992 to deal exclusively with the Welfare of the Disabled. Subsequently, the Directorate was upgraded as the office of the State Commissioner for the Disabled in 1999 as per the provisions in the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995.
The Government of Tamil Nadu through various policies and initiatives have extended full support to the Differently Abled Persons in their pursuit of full and equal involvement in every aspect of society.
The Directorate for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled is inviting applications for its Project Consultant on a contract basis for the Office Director for Welfare of the Differently-abled/State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities.
Duration of engagement: Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to 3 years based on annual performance review. The Director for Welfare of the Differently-abled/State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities can terminate the service of project consultant with prior notice of 15 days.
- Post Graduate or Master degree in Social work/Business Administration/Psychology/Sociology/Economics are preferred.
- Should have a minimum of 5 years of work experience, experience in drafting successful project proposals in the social sector especially with respect to children, women, differently-abled or other vulnerable sections.
- Weightage will -be given to the candidates who have work experience in a registered non-profit organization and should have raised project funding to the tune of at least Rs. 20 crores from various sources like Government, Corporate and
International funding agencies.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 35 years on the last date of submission of application.
Language: The Legal Consultant should be proficient in English and Tamil.
Honorarium Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75,000/- per month shall be fixed based on the qualification and experience of selected candidates.
