The Tata Institute of Social Sciences and School of Human Ecology invites applications for the Field Action project titled “Sukoon: Counselling and Research for Individual and Relational Well-Being in Legal Settings” for the post of Programme Officer and Research Officer (Full-Time posts).

The post details are given below.

 

1. Programme Officer (01)
Job Role
  1. Visiting and Coordinating with the courts across Mumbai for the smooth functioning of the counseling centers and the research work.
  2. The person may also be required to visit across Maharashtra for establishing new Sukoon centers.
  3. This position will also include actively providing counseling interventions with individuals and couples in legal settings.
  4. The Programme Officer will also be responsible for conducting group counseling and/ or workshops for the key stakeholders of the court system.
  5. The job also entails liaising with the respective Court officials such as Marriage Counsellors and Judges.
Qualifications
  • M.A. in Counselling/ Clinical Psychology is required along with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field in the capacity of a researcher/counselor.
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who have additional qualifications such as having completed specialized courses in Couples and Family Therapy OR demonstrating direct experience working as a couples/ family therapist.
  • Candidates should have some experience in handling administrative tasks in non-profit organizations.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with legal settings.
  • The candidate should have proficiency in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
Salary

The candidate will be paid a consolidated salary of Rs. 35000/- to 38000/- per month (depending upon experience). The fieldwork expenses including travel, food, and accommodations will be reimbursed according to TISS norms.

 

2. Research Officer (01)
Job Role

The primary tasks of the research officer will be as follows:

  1. Data collection.
  2. Data entry.
  3. Data analysis – both primary and secondary Sukoon Data.
  4. Use secondary data of Sukoon and create a concrete model of Sukoon’s work.
  5. Help in report writing and dissemination of research findings.
  6. The research officer may be required to travel to various sites in Maharashtra for data collection.
Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Psychology (preferably clinical and counseling) or social work (specialization in mental health) from a recognized university.
  • Candidates with prior research experience will be preferred.
  • The candidate should have proficiency in English and Marathi.
  • The candidate should have the necessary research skills for data collection, entry, and analysis.
Salary

The candidate will be paid a consolidated salary of Rs. 35000/- to 38000/- per month (depending upon experience). The fieldwork expenses including travel, food, and accommodations will be reimbursed according to TISS norms.

Duration

The appointment of both these posts is for 1 year which can be renewed in the following year. The officers working with the full-time post will work for 6 days a week in 1st and 3rd weeks and 5 days a week in the 2nd and 4th week at the courts.
