Prime Minister’s Fellowship Scheme for Doctoral Research 2017 [100 Projects]: Stipend of Rs. 8.7 Lakhs/Annum: Applications Open

The SERB, Govt. of India and Confederation of Indian Industry program called Prime Minister’s Fellowship Scheme for Doctoral Research offers a scheme to support research students.

This scheme is for supporting aspiring PhD scholars with scholarship, which will be provided by government and balance 50% by a sponsoring industry, for doing research for four years and the research fellow will receive PhD degree by doing this industrial research.

Eligibility:

Doctoral fellow should have enrolled / admitted for full-time PhD in last 14 months from the date of submission of applications in any recognized Indian University / Institute / Research Laboratory.

Research Areas:

Areas of research can be in any of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture or Medicine fields.

Nature of Support

The Fellowship amount will be up to Rs. 8.7 lakh per annum maximum per candidate.

Up to 100 research projects are supported in a financial year.

Duration of the Fellowships will be a maximum of four years leading with awarding of PhD degree.

Last date of Submission of Applications: Within 14 months of registration/admission to PhD

Announcement of Results: Updates on website

Signing of MOUs among selected PhD Fellows, Industry and Institutes: Within the time-period specified in the selection mail

Release of Fellowship amount to Research scholar: From April (or Month specified in the selection mail) of each year on a monthly basis.
