Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar, India invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the High Energy Physics Group. The position is for a project ‘Beyond Standard Model Physics with Neutrino and Dark Matter at Energy, Intensity and Cosmic Frontiers’ (Indian PI: Manimala Mitra), and is funded by Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced research (CEFIPRA). The position is co-terminous with the project duration.

Eligibility

The candidate is expected to have expertise in one or more of these following research areas – beyond standard model physics and phenomenology, collider physics, neutrino physics, dark matter physics, and Higgs physics. The selected candidate will work with Indian members of this project – Manimala Mitra, Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar, and Rohini M. Godbole, CHEP, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and French members of the project – Geneviève Bélanger, Cédric Delaunay at Laboratoire d’Annecy-le-Vieux de Physique Théorique (LAPTh), Annecy and Sabine Kraml at Laboratoire de Physique Subatomique et de Cosmologie (LPSC), Grenoble. The candidate must have a Ph.D degree at the time of joining.

Tenure of Fellowship

1+1 years from the date of joining. Extension for the second year is subjected to an evaluation after one year as per the rules of the Institute. The tenure can further be extended for 3rd year, subjected to the availability of funds.

Fellowship

47,000 INR per month at the time of joining (for Research Associate-I); HRA (16% of fellowship); Contingency, as per the rule of the Institute of Physics, India.

Joining

Joining for this position will be permitted starting from the beginning of January, 2021. Applicants should have a Ph.D degree at the time of joining.
