Applications are invited for Post-doctoral Research Associate (Bioinformatics) Under DBT Funded Project at JNU, New Delhi for the year 2021. The last date of application is 31 August.
A post doctoral position has become available in a DBT-funder project titled “Data Driven Modeling of Pathogen-specific host responses mediated by nucleic acids sensing proteins”. The project involves development of machine learning and statistical methods to decode protein-nucleic acid interactions involved in host-pathogen systems both in the extracellular and cytoplasmic environments.
Specifically, we are interested in integrative analysis of gene expression, sequence and structure patterns of pathogen and cellular specificities of various nucleic acid sensors. Data integration and machine learning techniques will be implemented and developed as part of this project. Our lab focuses on data driven biology and is interested in the subject at the interface of computer science and biology.
The position is open to a person with strong computational skills and good knowledge of biological systems, particularly evolutionary patterns in host-pathogen interactions. Applicants should have been awarded a doctoral degree before the time of their interview.
Appointment will be made only for a period of 6 months or until the project lasts.
- Interested candidates can apply via this page.
- Last date to apply: August 31, 2021
Salaries will be as per the rules of Department of Biotechnology.
