The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for postdoctoral position under the mentorship of Prof. Brajesh Kumar Kaushik on “Hybrid Plasmonic-photonics waveguide for Optical Interconnects”.
The prospective candidate is expected to have good knowledge about electronic and/or optical materials, devices, circuits and systems. Candidate should be passionate about working on cutting edge research leading to high impact publications and products.
Essential qualifications/ Specialization: The prospective candidate should have PhD in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Physics/ Material Science/ Nanotechnology or any other relevant field.
Desirable Qualification: Post-doctoral experience in design, simulation and fabrication of electronic and/or optical devices, circuits and systems.
Candidates who have recently submitted their doctoral thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will furnish the proof of award of Ph.D. at the time of interview.
Duration and Fellowship
The duration of the fellowship will be of 1 year 7 months (i.e. 19 months) extendable for one more year, if necessary. The candidate is expected to join the department as soon as the offer letter has been released. The fellow will receive a consolidated pay as below in addition to the contingency grant of Rs. 50,000/: per annum. First year: Rs. 55,000/- per month & Second year: Rs. 55,000/- per month.
