The Department of Biotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for post-doctoral position under the mentorship of Dr. Naveen K Navani, Professor, focused on ‘Molecular Biology, Nanoaptsensors and Genetic Engineering’ to work on “Development of nanoparticles based aptasensors for the detection of bacterial pathogens and xenobiotics in food”for a period of six months from the date of appointment.
The prospective candidate is expected to have a strong background in one or more areas within Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, and Nanotechnology, biosensorsandln-vitro SELEX technology supported by publications in reputed journals of molecular and diagnostic fields. Candidate should be passionate about working on cutting edge research leading to high impact publications and products.
Eligibility
Essential qualifications: The prospective candidate should have PhD in Biotechnology/Biochemistry or Microbiology with first class in the preceding degree.
Desirable qualifications: Minimum of Z years of experience/specialization in Molecular Biology/ Genetic Engineering/ Nanotechnology/ Biosensor development. The prospective candidate should have at least two high impact publications(I.F >6) or patents.

Duration & Fellowship
The duration of the fellowship will be for 6 months from the date of appointment The candidate is expected to join the department as soon as the offer letter has been released. The fellow will receive a consolidated pay as below in addition to the contingency grant of Rs. 50,000/- per annum.
Interview
The walk in interview for the Post-doctoral position will be held in conference room at the Department of Biotechnology on 25e of Feb 2021 (Thursday) at 3 pm.
Candidates shall bring with them a cover letter, cuniculum vitae, list of publications (with their respective impact factor), and research statement describing past research and plans for future research with them.
