PhD Scholarship School Chemistry Molecular Biosciences University Queensland

The School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB) combines the disciplines of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Parasitology into a single academic unit. The common thread in our discipline mix is the capacity of molecular-based approaches to create understanding and underpin Discovery. The School has modern research laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and research infrastructure. The School includes over 50 academic staff, who are widely published internationally and have extensive research backgrounds.

Applicants should possess a BSc Hons, MSc, or equivalent, majoring in a relevant discipline (e.g. microbiology, cell biology, immunology). Candidates should show strong academic performance, and have good oral and written communication skills. Research experience with relevant techniques, such as molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, and cell culture will be considered favourable.

The 2019 Research Training Program (RTP) living allowance stipend rate is AUD$27,596 (indexed annually), which is tax-free for three years with two possible extensions of up to 6 months each in approved circumstances.
