The Department of Applied Optics and Photonics will be admitting a maximum of five (5) students to the Ph.D. program of the Department, subject to the suitability of the applicants.
Candidates with M.Tech (Optics and Optoelectronics/Electronics & Telecommunication/Instrumentation or equivalent), M.Sc.(Tech.) in Optics and Optoelectronics, B. Tech. in the relevant field with at least 5 years of R&D experience and M.Sc (in Physics/Electronics/Biomedical Instrumentation or equivalent), may apply.
How to apply
Willing candidates should apply in the prescribed proforma (given here) along with Rs. 100/- paid through a challan available at any cash counter of the university.
The challan should necessarily be endorsed by the Departmental Head before submission of the fees.
Written exam followed by interview.
The written examination will be MCQ type. Syllabus for written examination: Graduate level optical physics, Optics & Optoelectronics, Instrumentation, Electronics and Mathematics.
Students who have cleared UGC/CSIR JRF Examinations/NET/SET/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil/M.Tech/M.E. or equivalent examinations shall not be required to appear for the Ph.D entrance written test.

Publication of list of candidates qualified in written test and selected for interview: May 24, 2019
