PSG College Of Technology, Coimbatore and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology invites applications for the PG Certificate in Data Analytics and Management in Bioinformatics. The course begins on Jun 24, 2019, and ends on May 30, 2020.
To provide hands-on training in quality control procedures on generated biological and medical data to enhance the students’ skill sets in the application of biological data in health care systems.
BE/BTech in Biotechnology/Biomedical/Bioinformatics/Computer Science/Information Technology with 60% aggregate marks. M.Sc., in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics / Biochemistry/MCA with 60 % aggregate marks.
The course content has been designed after interaction with Bioinformatics Companies to understand their human resource needs.
The course is structured to have three modules, The introductory basic module is covered in two months, modules II and III in three months each and internship for six months.
The PG Diploma program is aimed at training students on an interdisciplinary perspective. The students are allowed to choose two fundamental courses as electives to improve their basic understanding.
The laboratory courses will be taken by all the students, to ensure that they can complement the learning through interaction with peers from other backgrounds.
The total number of seats for the PG Certificate course is 30.

Rs. 50,000/- in two installments.
Top 20 students selected for the programme with BTech degree in Biotechnology/MSc in Biotechnology are eligible to receive a scholarship of Rs.10,000 per month for one year from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
Reservation for SC/ST/Physically Challenged candidates will be based on the norms of MHRD, Govt of India.
12 Months (1st Semester- 3 Months, 2nd Semester- 3 Months, Internship- 6 Months).
