Peter Drucker Challenge: Essay Competition, Prizes worth Rs. 72,000: Submit by July 15: Expired

The Peter Druker Challenge is a world wide essay competition organized by the Peter Drucker Society Europe-  – a non-political, independent, nonprofit association, established In Vienna in 2010.

The theme of the essay is “Human Prosperity in a Changing World”.

Aim

The aim is to keep the the human-oriented management philosophy of Peter Drucker alive in the minds of the young generation.

Participation

  • You must be between 18-35 years old (inclusive of both ages);
  • You must have been selected no more than once (or not at all) among the top 10 since 2010.

Student Category:

  • You are a part-time or full-time student (bachelor, master, MBA, or PhD);
  • Or you are seeking your first opportunity after the completion of your last degree.

Professional Category

You are a manager of people, projects, budgets, and/or processes;

  • Or you are a licensed professional;
  • Or you are an entrepreneur or business owner;
  • Or you are a social volunteer or community leader.

Essay Format

  • 1500 to 3000 words (excluding footnotes and any graphics) as PDF or word document.
  • Font size: 12 points
  • Language: English
  • Deadline: July 15, 2017, 16:00 CET
  • Anonymity: Your name must not be mentioned in the essay
  • Individuality: Entries must be produced exclusively by you for the specific purpose of this competition, and must not have been published elsewhere. No group work.

Evaluation Criteria

Essay will be evaluated according to the below criteria.

Your personal insights into the theme via the exploration and investigation of the cultural environment of which you are a part (the essay is meant to be personal, not academic or scientific, but you may include footnotes if you are citing specific facts or figures);

Your evaluation of whether or not Peter Drucker’s ideas on the overarching responsibility of management are still meaningful today;

  • Your provision of a compelling narrative and telling of a relevant story;
  • Your originality and style;
  • Your ability to express your thoughts in fluent English.

Prizes

Winner:

A cash prize of € 1,000 (to be handed over at the Awards Ceremony)

  • Free participation in the 9th Global Peter Drucker Forum to be held in Vienna on November 16 – 17, 2017 (including conference bag and brochure; buffet lunches and coffee breaks at the conference venue)

    Funding of travel expenses (airfare or train plus 3 nights lodging at a hotel of Organizer’s choice)

    Invitation to pre-conference events (Nov. 15): Drucker Challenge Get-Together (with partner) and Speakers reception at the City Hall (with partner)

    Invitation to the Gala event on Nov. 16 with awards ceremony (with partner) and a guided tour at Schönbrunn Palace

    Opportunity to contribute in a session and /or an interview by important media (selection by session chair/media representative)

    If you have qualified for the second round without being selected as one of the 10 finalists, you will get free access to the Global Peter Drucker Forum on Nov. 16 – 17, 2017 and your essay will be published on www.druckerchallenge.org.
