PETA India, based in Mumbai, was launched in January 2000. PETA India operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on or use for entertainment, while educating policymakers and the public about animal abuse and promoting an understanding of the right of all animals to be treated with respect.
If you want to help animals and earn a certificate of appreciation for your efforts, apply for a PETA internship. Or you can volunteer to help out in PETA’s Mumbai office, which is open from 9:30 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday.
We need caring, dedicated and conscientious people to conduct online research, compile and/or update data, make follow-up phone calls to media outlets, help with grassroots outreach activities (e.g., demonstrations and tabling events) and take part in many other activities. We promise to keep you hopping – and having fun!
Interns are considered a key part of the PETA team and, as such, must be reliable, flexible (i.e., able to switch from one project to another as necessary) and able to commit to the internship for at least one month.
We depend a great deal on our interns and appreciate their patience and hard work. In return, our interns expand their knowledge, experience the inner workings of a grassroots movement and gain the satisfaction of working to alleviate animal suffering.
If you want to apply for an internship, send your résumé to JalajK@petaindia.org along with a paragraph or two detailing your qualifications for interning with PETA as well as letting us know when you would like to intern. Please note, however, that interns will need to make their own accommodations.
If you can’t commit to an internship but still want to help out in our Mumbai office, please let us know which hours or days you’d be able to volunteer.
