The Dept. of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad is conducting the International Conference on North-South Imbalances: Global Perspectives and Challenges on January 12-13, 2020.

Even in the comity of the so-called civilized nations, there has been geographical, social, cultural, political and also economic discrimination. Voices are raised in several parts of the world against the actual and perceived discrimination by different groups, who have been demanding an egalitarian society. The International Conference on North-South Imbalances is aimed at initiating a dialogue at the imbalances and discrimination between not only North-South in India but also at the global level.

In India, it is felt that, since 73 years of independence the regional part of South India is being suppressed by the successive Union Governments in all aspects. Now it has become Socio-Economic and Political discrimination in U.S, U.K, Canada, European Union Israel, Japan, Singapore, South Korea as well as in New Zealand and Taiwan. The Global South is made up of Africa, Latin America and developing Asian countries including the Middle East and is home to BRICS countries.

About The Organizer

Osmania University (OU) was established in the year 1917, is the seventh oldest in India and the third oldest in South India. The University reflects the National agenda for higher learning, education as well as the aspirations of its founder, Mir Osman Ali Khan, the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad.

The Department of Law, Osmania University, has a glorious history of more than 100 years. The University College and PG College of Law, O.U, are well known for their erudite faculty, excellent infrastructure and alumni who after equipping themselves with requisite legal expertise in their alma mater have reached pinnacles of excellence as attorneys, judges of Supreme Court and High Courts and academia and other chosen professions.

Who is it for

Research Papers are invited from Academicians, Professionals, Scholars, Lawyers, Students, Social Engineers and Experts in the relevant fields. The Abstract containing not more than 200 words along with the title, author’s name(s), affiliation, address for correspondence, email of the authors along with 4 to 5 key words on and one or more of the conference themes. All the submissions are to be made through email to globaldiscrimination2020@gmail.com only.

All submitted papers will be peer reviewed and those accepted will be published in the conference proceedings.

The above themes are only illustrative in nature. The interested participants may submit their papers in any other area relevant to broad theme of the conference.

Location

Hyderabad is the City of Pearls and is more than 400 years old, and is the Capital of Telangana State in South India. The city of Hyderabad has been growing rapidly and has been an amalgamation of ancient architecture, together with the ebullience of growth and enterprise of the modern world.

Conference Venue

The Venue of the conference will be at PGRRCDE Auditorium, Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad-500007, India on January 12-13, 2020.

The Registration Fee has to be paid either in the form of a Cheque/Demand Draft/Online Transfer in favour of the Head of Department of Law, OU.

Limited Accommodation is available at the campus on first come first serve basis, on additional payment. However, there are many hotels around the campus. The information regarding hotels will be intimated to the interested participants. The organizers will not defray the costs of travel incurred by the participants and paper presenters. They are advised to sponsor their own travel.
