The University of Madras or Madras University is a public state university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1857, it is one of the oldest universities in India, incorporated by an Act of Legislative Council of India under the British government.
About the Workshop
The Two-Days Online Workshop on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy is organised by the University of Madras from July 21-23, 2020.
In this five-hour module we will explore the tenets of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and how we can integrate components of the DBTgroup sessions into individual work with clients in one-on-one therapy. We will use case studies to break out into groups and explore the possibilities of integrating DBT into our individual therapy practice.
What will be Covered?
- Introduction to DBT
- The therapeutic stance and premise of the practice.
- The different techniques taught within Group sessions.
- Case studies to demonstrate integration of the stance and techniques in working with people.
