The Teaching-Learning Centre (TLC), Tezpur University, Assam is organizing an online weeklong Workshop on Assessment and Evaluation from December 14 to 19, 2020. The program is being organized by TLC under PMMMNMTT Scheme, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
Tezpur University is a Central University located in Tezpur in the North Eastern state of Assam, India, established by an act of Parliament, in 1994. The establishment of Tezpur University is considered to be one of the outcomes of the Assam Accord, along with the establishment of Assam University and the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Tezpur University was established, by an Act of Parliament, in 1994. The then prime minister of India, P. V. Narasimha Rao, chaired the opening of the university.
Teaching Learning Centre has been conducting such workshops for teachers of higher education as per PMMMNMTT mandate. Keeping in view the norms regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic, the proposed workshop will be conducted in online mode.
Major areas to be covered in the workshop are – developing competencies related to different types of assessment, outcome-based assessment, developing tools for assessment, question paper setting, evaluation of answer scripts, the importance of online assessment in the e-learning process, use of ICT tools in teaching and evaluation like Google Classroom, MOODLE platform, etc.
The workshop will include both live sessions and pre-recorded sessions disseminated in online mode. Each session will carry assignments for getting the learning outcomes. The workshop will be conducted using Google’s LMS and live classes will be conducted through Google Meet. The live sessions will be streamed through YouTube also.

The Teaching-Learning Centre, Tezpur University invites faculty members of Universities, Colleges, and Institutes of higher education for participation in the workshop. E-certificate will be awarded to the participants after attending all the sessions and the proper submission of all assignments.
The registered participant will be shortlisted on a first come first serve basis. The candidates beyond 200 will be regarded as waitlisted. Shortlisted candidates will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.500 within a stipulated time. If anyone fails to do so the seat will be allocated to the first waitlisted candidate and so on.
