With the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, the education system has seen a drastic transformation from classroom teaching to online classes. While the new generation of students are readily adapting to online mode of learning, the teachers’ community are left to enhance their teaching abilities to the new virtual teaching methods.
At this juncture, the Department of Chemistry, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore has organized a two-day online Faculty Development Programme on “Virtual Teaching – Learning Experience” on 29th & 30th July, 2020.
The FDP offers unique and adaptable online teaching methods and allows them to develop interactive online classes for their students. The FDP will provide online interactive sessions with eminent professors from IITM and IITR.

Prof. Edamana Prasad is a professor at the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He was also working as the Head of Teaching Learning Centre at IIT Madras where a group of faculty members from science and engineering departments, IIT Madras has been actively participating in organizing various activities for improving the teaching-learning process in the higher education sector of the country.
Prof. Nagendra Kumar is the Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He has delivered invited lectures and plenary talks in dozen FDPs around the country and also has successfully conducted around 10 AICTE Sponsored Short Term Courses and Workshops on various aspects of teaching pedagogy, Soft Skills, Communication and Culture.
